Comedians Jon Richardson and Lucy Beaumont have announced their divorce after nine years of marriage. The couple, who starred in the UKTV show "Meet the Beaumonts," made the announcement in a joint statement.
"It is with great sadness that we announce our decision to divorce," the statement read. "This has been a difficult and painful decision, but it is one that we have made together and with love for each other."
Richardson and Beaumont met in 2003 while performing at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. They married in 2015 and have one child together.
The couple's divorce has come as a surprise to many fans, who knew them as a close and happy couple. In a recent interview, Richardson said that he and Beaumont were "still best friends" and that they would continue to co-parent their child together.
